I own many Sivana bamboo shirts in different styles and really wanted to love this one because the cut and design are great. Unfortunately, the fabric is not the same bamboo material used in their other products. Instead, it feels and looks more like a shiny spandex fabric, similar to what’s used for dance leggings or leotards. Additionally, the color has visible defects.
For sizing reference, I usually size down in Sivana relaxed-fit shirts (I’m 5'8", 145 lbs) and order a small, but with this shirt I recommend sticking to your usual size. I would have needed a medium, as the sleeves were too tight for me.

How does bamboo feel compared to cotton?
Softer and smoother. Up close, cotton fibers are flat and twisted with tiny fuzzy ends, which gives cotton its slightly dry, textured feel. Bamboo viscose fibers are round and smooth, so the fabric feels silky, drapes instead of standing stiff, and feels cool the moment you put it on.
Will it stay soft?
Yes. Bamboo gets softer with each wash, where cotton can feel stiffer over time, especially when it's line dried.
Is bamboo cooler or warmer than cotton?
It breathes well and draws moisture away from your skin, so it feels cooler and less clingy than cotton on warm days. When it's cold, it layers easily under a cardigan or wrap.
What is bamboo viscose? Is it the same as rayon?
Yes, same thing. Bamboo is broken down into pulp and spun into a fine, smooth fiber. Viscose and rayon are two names for that process.
How do I care for it?
Machine wash cold on gentle with a mild detergent, then tumble dry low or hang to dry. Skip bleach and fabric softener (it doesn't need it). Heat can shrink bamboo, so cool and gentle keeps it true to size.
